Situated directly next to the "Ostbahnhof" in the centre of a spacious area, the monumental building has been amazing guests with its distinct geometry and the simple external facade since it was constructed in 1842.

The location, a total of 4,300m², consists of the following areas: "Gleishalle" (train shed) in the upper floor with approx. 1,800m². The "Einpackkammer" (dispatch area) in the basement with approx. 1,400m².
